Google will warn us when AI calls us

A few days ago, at the Google I / O conference, the giant presented very interesting news in the Google Assistant, which will soon be available on all Android smartphones. The most important of them is the ability to perform an artificial intelligence by the name Duplex, for example, a hairdresser and make an appointment.

The novelty caused mixed feelings among all people interested in the latest technologies, but not only. Although these benefits can be very practical and helpful to many people, the question arose about the security of such conversations and the associated fraud.

In the end, the new version of Google Assistant can conduct conversations with people in such a way that they may not be aware that they are dealing with a bot, not a human.

Google immediately issued a statement on the matter, in which it said that before the refreshed application goes to smartphones, it will be completely safe for everyone. This is both about people using the AI giant and those who interact with it in a different way.

So if we ask Google Assistant to make a phone call to a specific company or person, then when the recipient receives it, the system will inform him that he will talk to artificial intelligence, not a human.

This is a very good step for Google, after all, AI technologies are growing so fast that it's hard to keep up on them, and it should come as no surprise that such gadgets will be used very quickly by all types of cheats.

Scary stuff indeed, imagine a malicious app that interfaces with the phone to place phishing calls from the users device. I already get at least one robo call a day from what seems the be the same origin but a different number every time. Thanks for sharing.
