The Vanguard

Think life, think Technology, try to imagine how life forms will cope without it. Not just Humans in this case, but all life forms.Blockchain and cryptocurrencies existed because of Technology. So let us digress and imagine technology in shipping business, ocean life.

DOCWISE'S VANGUARD

Can you imagine a ship that lifts ship in the ocean? The semi-submersible Vanguard is the largest lift ship in existence. This ocean beast could have saved The Titanic if it had been conceived and designed by then, although it could have cost at least $100,000 USD to lift The Titanic back to safety.

BRIEF HISTORY

Sometime ago in 1993, through a merger between Wijsmuller Heavy transport and Dock Express shipping Dockwise was birthed.

The united States Naval forces needed to get “The USS Cole” which was hit by a huge ballistic missile in the year 2000 in Yemen back to Mississippi for refitting and repairs. Then the Dutch Shipping Giant “Dockwise” was consulted, being a pro in massive cargo lifting, the Dutch giant sent The MV Blue Marlin for the task. Using it’s huge ballast tank, It slid underneath the sunken Naval war ship submerged to about 50feet and rised up with the Heavy cargo of about 550 tons and moved it back to the states from Yemen.

Then Dockwise came up with a more advance and more complicated one "The Vanguard" which was finished in the year 2012. Extensively used by World’s largest energy companies to move and fix offshore oil drilling platforms.

MODE OF OPERATION

This Giant can submerge itself to carry an entire oil rig. The world’s largest lifting vessel Semi-Submerges itself to lift extremely large cargos by the process in which it's enormous water tanks slowly fill to submerge the ship to about 50 feet underneath the vessel to be moved. It then slides under the ocean going behemoths like offshore rigs, lift them up and transport them across the Ocean to any destination. "Too, The Vanguard also play the role of Dry Docks, allowing for the maintenance of giant structures while at sea, thus, cutting down unnecessary cost involved in hauling these infrastructures back to land!"

FEAUTURES

  • Cost- $240 Million USD.

  • Size/Dimension- 230 feet by 902 feet i.e 230 feet wide, 902 feet long.

  • Propulsion/Navigation- 27 Mega Watts twin Screw.

  • Capacity- 110,000 Metric Tons and below.

CARGOS
