I'm not sure, if the new core will be much better than the last. My Sandybridge is running @ 4.7 GHz for years now. If you have single-threaded applications, as most are, there is no advantage.
The problem is, that intel could do far better, but there are no competitors, since amd was crushed. But let's see the oc-results later this year. Buying this at this price is a no-go. By the way, good posts :-)
Thanks for the pat on the back. I've looked at some early tests of the entry level i9 and they're quite impressive. The i9 is based on the Kaby Lake architecture.
Let's hope so. yes, I heard of an oc with hardcore-cooling. It will be interesting how far it can go with air.
