SOLAR PAINT! - Today In The Future

in #technology7 years ago

What Does It Do?

Well this, solar paint would be able to be used as paint, on your house and collect fuel from air, and look great while doing so! It is capable of absorbing moisture from the air and turning it into hydrogen fuel!

What Is Hydrogen Fuel?

It is clean energy! When it is burned with oxygen it is a zero-emission fuel. It can be used in fuel cells to power electric motors or burned in internal combustion engines, and is very efficient!

Who Discovered This Solar Paint?

RMIT University in Melbourne, southern Australia, their research team, have developed a unique paint that contains a new compound that acts like silica gel, that’s the stuff used in those little sachets that absorb moisture to keep things like food, medicines, and electronics in good shape.

How Does It Work?

So, the new material, called synthetic molybdenum-sulphide, also acts as a semiconductor and catalyzes the splitting of water atoms into hydrogen and oxygen. Dr. Torben Deneke said that his team found out that mixing the compound with titanium oxide particles leads to sunlight-absorbing paint that produces hydrogen fuel from solar energy (sunlight) and moist air!

Be Ready In 5 Years

It’s likely to take at least five years to commercialize and should be cheap to produce. So get ready be using solar paint to paint your house. And produce hydrogen fuel!

The future is exciting, yet dark so be wary!
