To ge honest, I can't yet wrap my head around the AI issue yet, but I am more than a little skeptical about the tech elite class' ideas of how the world should be run. I hope it doesn't rub off on their AI pets ;-p

Ooo definitely checking that out. I think people will really need to up their game regarding Cybersecurity as Cryptocurrencies, digital ID and identity stealing continue to become more widely adopted. Crazy to think that there are still so many people yet to become literate, computer literate, able to access computers, have access to decent internet let alone any of the more 'advanced' uses of the internet we seem to take for granted. I remember reading "The World Is Flat" and realizing how many empowering technologies had combined together so quickly, to the point that a 16 year old with a knack for photoshop could be out competing entire corporations, from his mum's basement. It's the same with social media, encryption, blockchains, AI and soon, Quantum computing and things we probably can't imagine just yet. This video about the evolution of the internet is a bit dated, but I think it highlights the progress we've made but maybe don't fully appreciate.
In a weird way, I am both hopeful about the potential of a smart kid in a basement being able to make some kind of really interesting advance, and yet on the other hand, there is always the potential of "business as usual."
For example, speaking of the increasing demand for a certain level of tech literacy, even if just for security pourposes, there will always be companies ready to fill the gap of providing a turn key solution to all of us that just don't want to worry too much about all of that.
But one thing is for sure... We will see!
