What is the real risk of artificial intelligence?
Should we fear artificial intelligence? What threat could it pose? The answer may be funky and unexpected.
The first thing that comes to mind is a scenario for a science fiction film in which machines dominate their artificial intelligence on the world, such as the Tremonter film series where machines want to destroy humanity, or the Matrix series where machines want to turn humanity into batteries to harvest energy.
Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, may be physically integrated into us through the implantation of organs in our bodies, which turns humans into cyborg, an organism that contains living biological parts and integrated industrial parts.
While these threats may be real but may need hundreds of years, there is a faster risk of losing jobs.
Artificial intelligence would lead to thousands of redundancies, and the industrial revolution would eliminate many manual workers.
The danger of this is that it will first lead to disturbances in the communities, especially since most of the lost jobs will be among the less paid, and therefore the middle and lower class.
On the other hand, savings in expenditures will increase corporate profits, leading to an increase in poor distribution of wealth, and collect them in the upper class.
These problems will require solutions, such as re-training people and employing them in jobs that artificial intelligence can not do, such as jobs that require communication and creativity.
It will also require greater solutions to maintain the structure of society and prevent the spread of poverty, as a result of the loss of jobs and the consequent social and political problems.
I think your article is near sighted. Do you not believe that eventually AI will only see humans as a useless, annoying, distructive force that gives no purpose other than taking resources from them (AI)?
