Oontz Angle 3: The Beast in the Tiny Cage!
I had been in the market for a bluetooth speaker for as long as I can remember. Aside from work, small time to myself in the house, it did not really appeal to me to have it right there and then. But after my mum bought her BT speakers, that sealed the deal, envious enough to decide that I needed one - just because wanting it will not make me buy it.
But still it took me awhile to decide. This is not something I would splurge the entirety of 1 month savings for. Again, this is not really something that has Numero Uno priority. So I looked long and hard for reviews particularly in the bang for the buck section. And I found the Oontz Angle 3.

Though you won't see Oontz Angle 3 that much nowadays suggested by reviews and these types of searches, it has had its prime in the earlier days (maybe a year ago). This isn't really something that's new (no lux to bite more than I can chew) but the price point before discounts is already very tempting. A highly suggested tech at 30USD?
But then again, I waited further. You would say I was really a cheapskate, but you couldn't blame me if it's say that there are just more things that are more important that a wireless speaker. Then came the sale... The Revolution Sale or so they call it.
sale day! Yeeeeeey!
This is our version (well sort of) of Black Friday/ Cyber Monday deals where we get large discounts on all kinds of stuff from diapers to baby bottles to watches, cellphones, IP cameras, whatever you have in mind they prolly have it.
And so I got the chance to glimpse at the Oontz A3 included in the list, and so I decided, this is not something I would be passing up. At 999php or less than 20USD, something like this can be sent to me on my door step within the week. And I am happy to say it has been here for the past 24 hours. Wooooot.
My expectations, much like the countless reviews I have read and watched were loud and by loud enough to have your neighbor call the police for public disturbance. And to have that come from a very petite package? That is amazing!
The Oontz A3 despite the price point does not look cheap at all. Feels great in the hands when held, the flap for the charge and aux port are sturdy though parts of the surface are made of plastic, it feels all premium.
The box were all ordinary. What you would normally expect from a tech package nothing special there. What accompanied the Oontz A3 were the aux cord and the charging cord that still uses the USB2.0 tech and yes what would tech be without instructions.
It is also worth noting (since I read the instructions - who still does this?), that there was no Rx time for charging and playtime is about 6 hours at 2/3 of max volume. I haven't really fully tested this part yet as I have really exactly drained the batteries.
One other thing I would like to note is its IPX5 certification. Classified as dust and splashproof, it is a plus, though I wouldn't want to test it out myself but it is better to have that on board in case of natural calamities which our country is very known for having. However with the holes and gaps present make me feel pessimistic with the certification. Well l'll know along the way will I ?
Well that's that for the Oontz A3, It will take me time to really play with it and have a review but so far all is well. Another key thing to note is that it vibrates on louder volumes making the speaker move where it stands. Prone to falling? Yes. Does it concern me? No, I do not need it loud enough so that it would move on its own.
For now this suits my needs for gaming on the go, peaceful calming music when rough torrents shake the boat. A movie when I least expect to see one. Maybe work here or there, but who uses personal stuff for work nowadays?
