An app to PLANT some quality time 🔎 Shirlam the Explorer
In this era of technology, we are surrounded by unlimited information and social networks just with a click of the button of our smartphones. Yet, have you found more "phone zombies" on the streets? Maybe we are sometimes just too addicted to obsessed with our phones and we forget how to go offline and spend quality time with ourselves and family or friends.
Here is an app for us all to detach from the virtual world and plant some quality time in our lives -- the FOREST.
This app works like a timer, allowing you to set the time period (up to 120 minutes) you wish to stay focus. During that time, the app would plant a tree for you. If you leave the app and start to go on Facebook or Instagram, your lovely tree dies immediately. In this way, people are reminded to stop phubbing (phone + snubbing).
You can keep track of your progress every day or every week by looking at your forest!
It even allows you to plant with friends and compete with see the progress of your friends haha. You can always unlock new tree species once you have accumulated sufficient rewards by staying focused.
If you are a pro in planting time with the app, the app can even plant a real tree for you to protect the environment.
The biggest shortcoming of this app is that it is not free. Frankly, this is the first app I purchased from the App Store. I believe that the quality time we can plant by using this app is definitely worthwhile. Also, the app is easy to use and has a clear purpose to offer us a place for focusing, no matter for study or spending time with our beloved. I hope we all have a peaceful forest where we can all be present and live in the moment.

Intetesting app. Is that your forest? You have quite a lot of trees.
Yes this is my forest for the last week haha... I have been trying to be present (though I sometimes procrastinated :P). Currently want to unlock more tree species to make my forest more varied and beautiful ;)
