Artificial Intelligence, the Substitute for Human Resources

The next selection process you attend may be led by an IA. 

This Artificial Intelligence (IA) aims to eliminate bias when recruiting candidates for a job. This will prevent hiring the less qualified candidate because he or she falls better or because he or she is an acquaintance or relative (the plug, speaking in silver). Any other bias such as race or ethnicity would also be avoided.

In fact, this is one of the big problems of selection systems within companies: they are very opaque systems, and it is never very well known what criteria the jury in charge uses to decide who gets the job. Especially in public competitions, where candidates who have been dismissed may often claim that there has been fraud.

Human Resources with Artificial Intelligence 

The solution proposed by Mya Systems, a Californian company that has developed a chatbot based on Artificial Intelligence that establishes contact with candidates. In May they raised $11.4 million in funding. 

The problem with this: IA that it evaluates could be misled, so perhaps there should be more direct contact involving other factors, such as attitude and facial and body expressions. However, we could never know what the company is looking for, as it may have very specific criteria.

The system is also not completely autonomous. For now, a specialist will have to consult the data processed by the IA in order to decide on one candidate or another. So it could not be concluded that there are no biases in the selection processes in which it has been used.

However, it does give the opportunity to candidates who would otherwise be left out of the process, especially those with no professional experience but who are able to offer what the company is looking for. In fact, this is what is usually done in many online selection processes: those profiles that have no experience or do not meet other factors that should not be decisive are filtered.
