The Nature of Evolution and our Existence

in #technology7 years ago

The nature of evolution is that one species is overcome by another more suited for survival. Much like the Neanderthal was overcome by homo sapiens due to the ability of homo sapiens to adapt to the environment through the use of technology (albeit very primitive technology). But what has helped us to survive and advance as a species has grown at an exponential rate. We have become creators, gods if you will. Technology has come to the point that our creations are soon to overtake us in every manner. The nature of our neural network within our bodies is horribly inefficient. A computer processes information around 1000 times faster than us because gold conducts electricity far better than our organic matter ever could. So what happens to us? Are you and I, this entire generation, the last of humanity to inhabit this planet? Did we create a new form of life that no longer requires cells and organic matter to exist? Are we to go the way of the Neanderthal?

So really there are only a few viable options should this theory be accurate. First off, we could hope that they were merciful to their creators. Second, they could potentially have some sort of moral guideline to separate "good" from "bad" humans and then the good could just be put on some sort of endangered species list. And the third option I see is that we advance our bodies (ironically with the same technology) to meet or surpass that of the "robotic uprising".
