Lest we forget... the most powerful power is: People Power

Has Silicon Valley lost it's touch on reality? With all it's ability to change the World, it's massive shift that has brought us the social interwebs, smart phones and soon to be self-driving cars - have we also unleashed the basest of actions? Does this make them hypocrites? I mean, can you change the World for the better and still spend $5M on a lavish Burning Man Camp? Or on a debaucherous trip to Las Vegas?

Listen, I am literally the last person to judge. "Ye who throws the first stone..." and all that jazz.

And as 2Pac once said:
Only God Can Judge Me

Again, if you believe in that sort of thing, but I digress.

The thing is, it isn't me that you have to convince - it's the masses. I am a tech nerd. My Mom has been a computer science teacher for K-8 for 25+ years. I love Silicon Valley, everything it has brought to the World and what it will do in the future.

But others don't share my enthusiasm and I can't blame them. Amidst the aforementioned, there are the sexual harassment scandals, sinister collections of private data, cheating, propaganda partners to government censorships, a callous approach to empathy, and an enabler of discriminatory advertising. Moving fast and breaking things has always been the motto, and is a good tactic if you don't have to clean up the mess.

Yet everyday people outside of this ecosystem aren't happy. You can sense it wherever you speak to people and travel. The latest scandal with Apple confirming our long thought suspicions: Apple Confirms It Degrades Your Old iPhone's Performance

Apple's reason was actually quite academic, but it was the coverup and that was/is the problem.

And that's just it. In the wave of transparency hitting this World - anything less is a slight to humanity. You can't say you are for humanity while you're disinterested in the everyday lives of human beings.

You can't say you help the poor when you contribute to more people losing jobs.
You can't say you're for the environment when your carbon footprint is more than 100 humans.
You can't say... you get the point.

In the end, everyone has to be their own moral compass.

Thanks Unicron! Just trying to be as open as possible! :)

Apple is not anymore a IT company but a company that if they can remove something they will be removing it. Latest example: Audio Jack
