Evolution of Humans with Superpowers: {Enhanced Meta Humans}

in #technology7 years ago

There has been massive revolution in the field of genetic engineering, but I'll like to bring us to a closer look at the baseline of genetic enhancement; the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats). This is, no doubt, the most innovative tool for the editing of genes.

We may have all seen the movie "X men" and the abilities exhibited by these mutants (meta humans), such as; Telepathy (mind reading and communication), Telekinesis (controlling things with the mind), Cryokinesis (controlling of ice), Pyrokinesis (controlling of fire), Teleportation (moving from one point to another without passing through the intervening medium), Super strength, Accelerated healing, Magnetokinesis (controlling of metals), just to mention a few.

But the questions are:

  1. Can we achieve these powers in real life?
  2. Are there already people living with these powers?

Let's find out.

Enhancing a Human

The human DNA structure is made up of over 20,000genes. Some of these genes produce protein structure when expressed. These proteins could include hemoglobin and collagen. Now, when these genes are altered through CRISPR, you can get the X-gene (this should not be confuse with the X and Y chromosomes).

This X-gene causes other genes to produce proteins the normal genes in humans don't produce. With this, we can replicate the gene that causes Logan to heal fast, or the super strength of Hank (The beast) in humans. Wouldn't that be scary? Well, I wouldn't mind some of these super powers.

Dynamics of CRISPR

Like I said before, the CRISPR is the baseline of genetic engineering. It has revolutionized the techniques of genetic modification.

With CRISPR, any particular gene can be isolated and modified independently of other genes. That means, any area of the human genome can be edited with high accuracy and precision index.

CRISPR can also be used to infuse the "Mutant X-gene" into humans to create the desired "Meta human".

The applications of these technologies are limitless, which include:

  • Enhanced Intelligence
  • Immunity to diseases
  • Accelerated healing, etc.

"X" meets Singularity

There is a point in the multiverse where the laws of physics cease to exist. I know this may sound weird, but what if this universe is not the only one? That was why I called it "Multiverse".

It has been postulated that we live in a parallel universe and there is another universe where humans have these mutant abilities {Parascience}.  Paraphysicists believe that these abilities are resultant effects of their own universe vibrating at a different frequency compared to our own universe. Now, what if we replicate that same frequency in a confined space here on earth, would we create further enhancements in the X-gene? Scientists have lots of work to do in this field.

One thing I know is; in this era of emerging technology, the word "Impossible" does not exist.

For me; if I'm asked to choose a mutant ability, I'll gladly go for Telepathy (Just like Professor X).

I would not mind all those cool abilities, immortality is really on my mind.

I guess we're even then

You have no idea how much I want this to be true! lol. Good post! @suicidalviral

Not only you. But the thing is, will it be safe to entrust these kind of powers in humanity? That will be very scary. Even aliens will be scared of us
