In ios 12 you'll experience a faster and responsive experience while launching Camera and typing with the keyboard. And there are even more significant improvements when you’re doing a lot on your device at once.

Apple says there will be up to 70% faster swipe to the camera, up to 50% faster keyboard display and 2X faster app launch under a heavy workload.

FaceTime
FaceTime now supports video and audio with up to 32 people at once.

The tile of the person speaking will get larger automatically.

Memoji
Animoji changes and new Memoji

you can create a Memoji to match your personality and mood.
Your Memoji is your own virtual avatar where you can personalize facial features from hair colour to skin tone or even your age.

ARKit 2 and multiplayer gaming
ARKit 2 allows for 'shared experiences' (multiplayer potential)
LEGO, Fender, Adobe and Pixar are all working on AR with Apple

LEGO demoed a four-player game, pledging that it was in when it came to Apple's “creative play possibilities.” Players were involved in building up an AR town. It was like The Sims was reimagined for the future.

AR objects can now be sent with Messages and Mail, then viewed in the real world. And a new AR app in iOS called Measure helps you measure real-world objects just by pointing your camera at them.

Your lock screen is about to get a lot cleaner. Rather than showing every single notification in one long stream, iOS 12 groups them together by type.

Siri can now intelligently pair your daily routines with third-party apps to suggest convenient shortcuts right when you need them.
Siri will let you create your own shortcuts to make custom commands. So if you wanted to say something like "Hey Siri, let's go on a bike ride," Siri could bring up the weather, directions on a map, and set a reminder to bring your helmet.
