Apple 's new iPhones are currently at the center of discussions in the technological world. Following the chaotic launch of the iOS 11 (and two equally problematic updates), reports of a serious flaw in the iPhone 8 Plus are exactly the last thing Apple needed.

Speaking to the British daily The Independent, Apple has confirmed that it is investigating reports that the iPhone 8 Plus is experiencing a severe battery failure that would eventually cause the sides to open of the smartphone. The incidents are limited for the moment (the popular Apple site , MacRumors, brings in several more), but it is certain that Apple must take this very seriously.

Little is known at this time about this failure, although The Independent mentions that according to Apple the origin of the problem would be a "swelling of the battery". The company also considers that this defect should not pose security problems, in contrast to the infamous difficulty encountered by Samsung with the explosive batteries of the Galaxy Note 7.

However, Apple has already had its own battery concerns last year, and had then launched a battery reminder program for some 6S iPhones.

Following this, the safety and reliability of batteries have become absolute priorities for Apple and Samsung, as for the whole sector. Samsung in particular has made great strides forward this year with the launch of its pioneering battery safety verification program, and substantially decreasing the annual battery decline of its latest smartphones.

It goes without saying that brand users as the company strongly hope that the incidents of the iPhone 8 Plus will be the last. Nevertheless, while we await the results of the Apple survey, it seems wise for now to buy another iPhone model rather than this one ...
