Why shake your head? IF this shit is real, it's actually pretty impressive. I doubt it'll be economically viable (any time soon) to outfit every chicken in every farm with VR, but if it was viable, why not try to make a dying chicken as comfortable as possible?
We are reaching a point where we are becoming "old" and we will nag about all these much like our parents did for tv, the internet, porn, video games.
Even today, take a look at the chicken industry. How we stuck chickens on top of each other, how we butcher them by the thousands into meat grinders so we can make nuggets.
The new generation will see this as the norm. These devices will get smaller and smaller. All animals will have them at some point (if we don't move to lab grown meat). We will have them as well and I doubt if anyone will be bothered when and if all sentient beings around us are hooked somehow with a virtual realm.
This is the WTF-moment of the day, crazy stuff!
Anyway I predict that omni-directional treadmill getting clogged up with shit and then the chicken crashes into the wall, loses its VR headset and awakens from the Matrix o_0
Next, our dogs will have VR to play fetch with the computer!
