Oftentimes, the three terms can be a bit confused.

What is Back End Development?

Back end developers will handle the intricacies of implementing scripts in a variety of different scripting languages. They also are involved in making sure the server is properly being administered. The day to day duties of a back end developer can change drastically as things are constantly evolving in the tech world. They are the faceless administrators that will ensure that nothing catches on fire.

They may even physically go and manage your server if need be, to make sure it is running as effieciently as possible

Ok, so what do front end developers do?

They make the face of your business golden.

Front end developers thrive in what customer facing portions of your website, or applications are going to showcase the moment someone lands on it. There duties may include a variety of different things, such as managing a CMS, ensuring that conflicts on the front end of things don't occur, or even doing photoshop in order to pull together the final product. Being a front end developer takes a ton of time and research to become successful. You manage the face of the business.

Okay, so what exactly do Full Stack Developers do then?

The jack of all trades, but master to none

As someone who can do both front end and back end development, I can say I've done things from extremely complex and fully custom server setups, as well as done fully customized websites. Starting to make sense now? It's a combination of the two. My strengths are just where I need them, I can script PHP, spit out SQL queries, and sys admin for nearly any OS you throw in front of me ( with the exception of Suicide Linux ). I make things work, to the best of my abilities, all while ensuring your server is running optimally. On the front end side of things, I utilize best practice in order to grab the attention of future clients, deploy various API calls and pull people in. It is the best of both worlds for companies who can only afford the luxury of having one developer. I ensure that the people running their business can continue running it, without having to worry about any of the server/site side issues that may arise.

Never hesitate to get started, you can learn on your own!
