ADAC named the most environmentally friendly cars

The All-German Automobile Club has refuted some myths, tightening test conditions for 45 models with gasoline, diesel, electric, hybrid and gas engines.

Of the 45 models, only 11 received four or five stars

This is a clear reaction to the "diesel scandal" with Volkswagen. It broke out in the fall of 2015, when it became clear that the largest German automaker, built in its cars with diesel engines, software that, while being tested on the stand, deliberately underestimated the emissions. As a rule, state control bodies are limited to laboratory tests.

Toyota Prius - the cleanest and most economical hybrid

ADAC set out to find out, "which manufacturers are interested in persistently clean exhausts, and which simply seek to comply with the prescribed standards." The main task of the test is to "clearly orient" car enthusiasts in choosing the most economical and, if possible, environmentally friendly new car.
