[STEP BY STEP] HOW TO MAINTAIN A REMOTE CONTROL

in #technology6 years ago (edited)

Hello friends from the great community of STEEMIT! Today, useful tips for the operation and maintenance of technological wonders that have made us life recently, while we save fatigue, hahaha, boys and girls more and nothing less than is a remote control or that it can mean that all the teams are sure that there is one, it is necessary that some tricks are of great help to us.

When we have some problem with a remote control, what you have to verify is that the batteries have deteriorated, it is easy to know when they are deteriorated since we will find sulphate or oxide in their terminals and in the contacts where these are adjusted in the control.
It is necessary in case of sulphate or oxide in the control terminals, clean well, this can be done with a metal or metal wool sponge scraping the entire affected surface and then to finish the tests of the passes on the surfaces with a brush of plastic bristles

Then we open the control to verify the state of the electronic board, its graphite contacts and contacts of the silicone membrane where the keys are, what we can find an accumulation of fat, a method of our hands, which sometimes prevents contact with the keys and the plate.

In this case, it is a surface with a little mild detergent, water and a plastic brush, you can also use just a little cotton and isopropyl alcohol, allows to leave it in the shade in a ventilated place or accelerate the process with a hair dryer to select the maximum power with the minimum of calories.

It can also happen that there is no grease on any part of the aforementioned surfaces, which can be solved with aluminum foil, cutting small circles and sticking them in these contacts of the next way:

Once the operations described above have been carried out, we set up the control again, we put some new and good quality batteries, after that we can do a simple test with our mobile device.

To verify that the infrared LED emits a signal when pressing any key of the control, it is necessary to activate the camera of the cell phone and pointing to the camera with the control we begin to press each one of its keys to observe if doing it every time, the infrared LED emits the corresponding signal.

In case the infrared LED does not emit any signal when pressing the keys, it is very likely to be damaged, but we can still do one more test before resorting to a further revision technique that later leads to some specific electronic repair that I will present in the second part of this post. The test is to bring the remote control to a radio, which will tune in a band where there is no transmission, then begin to press the control keys to know if the rest of the circuit on the control board works correctly, if so you will hear a particular sound on the radio, which we can identify as a pulsating sound (BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP), otherwise, if we do not hear anything, we can say that there is a problem on that board.

The images that do not have a source were taken by me with a BlackBerry Curve 9360 cell phone.

Thank you very much for reading my post, it took me some time to prepare it and structure it well, I hope it will be of great help!
