By 2017 China has become the possesser of most supercomputers.China now has 202 supercomputers , compared to 143 for the United States, while Japan has 35, Germany 20, France 18, and United Kingdom 15 .
The Chinese computer "sunway taihulight" leads the list of the fastest supercomputers in the world and is located in the national center of computers in Wuxi city, another computer from China ranked second. While the fastest US computer ranked fifth after the Japanese computer and the Swiss computer.

This superiority and rapid transformation of China shows that this Asian country continues to invest heavily in supercomputers,which is capable of working efficiently in various scientific fields, from astronomy to the military, to weather forecasting. More importantly, these computers are Chinese, which confirms that China is trying to rely on itself in the manufacture of supercomputer away from dependence on the United States of America.
