Amazon Go is a new store in Seattle that is like a high tech 7 11 with no cashiers. It will surely kill many jobs. How do they prevent shoplifting? How many locations will they have? These are just some of the questions that this new store poses for the future of retail.

Here’s an article for more information.

I'm pretty sure the only customers it currently allows are Amazon employees since it's still in the experimental phase? I believe it's been this way for a while to iron out kinks they find.

Makes sense if it's only employees. Otherwise it seems like they are going to experience a loss with the amount of problems they will likely encounter. It's cool that they're starting to try it out though :)

It officially opened to the public today. The irony is that although it was designed to have no lines to pay, they had a huge line just to get in to the store.

There was a very recent anime called 'Beatless'. In that something along the lines of this was done in the first episode. But even in that a checkout was present. I guess even modern fiction can't keep up with what tech is out now.
