Back in September last year, Broadcom announced the new dual-frequency GPS technology. And Xiaomi has just launched the new Mi 8, which is the world's first smartphone to use this technology.

This technology can be used in upcoming s series and note series of samsung

According to Broadcom, the conventional smartphone GPS offers 5 meters accuracy; however, the new dual-frequency GPS offers 30-centimeter (0.3 meters) accuracy. In simple terms, the dual-frequency GPS is at least 16 times more accurate than what we have on smartphones currently.
