UK Publicly Tests Self-Driving Taxis
That's right friends, the future is here and it's awesome. The UK will begin testing autonomous taxis later this year. Anyone who needs a ride can flag one down for a brief trip down a pre-determined route. A human "Warden" will ride along to ensure safety. Some believe that autocars will replace buses/trains/taxis altogether. And why not? The "first and last mile" problem has prevented many from using public transport - the bus stop is just too far! But autocars could solve that by picking up and dropping off passengers in more deserted, less accessible areas, within a few feet of their desired locales. It'll be revolutionary.
I've never visited the UK but plan to in the distant future. When I do, I won't be tipping the taxis.
