Around 34 years ago Apple released its first GUI supporting OS (Operating System) named as, Lisa. It was released around 1983 and retailed for $10,000 for the users at that time. The device running on Lisa was considered to be the first one supporting GUI and a mouse for various functions. However, its release didn’t make the expected sales mark and was able to sell only 10,000 units.

You know what, it is said that the failure of Apple’s Lisa was the reasons due to which Steve Jobs left his job. He then started a separate organization, which is known as NeXT computers. After the success of NeXT computers, Steve was again called by Apple and his company was also bought.

Now the interesting thing is, Apple is going to publicly release the source code of its first operating system. The computer history museum has claimed the fact that Apple is currently reviewing the source and will release it soon.

In 2018, the source code including all of the applications will be publicly shared in the Computer History Museum.

A lot of people are waiting for this effort to be made soon, are you one of them? Well, at least I am!
