Tucker Interview with Dr. Jean Twenge

Tucker Carlson has a very important interview with Dr. Jean Twenge about the negative impact of smartphones on society and especially younger generations. Some very important questions we should be asking about the long term implications of where our society is headed.

"Technology can be our best friend, and technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we're too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone." - Steven Spielberg

Artist Luis Quiles has done a few controversial works regarding the negative impact of social media.

Yes, it is extremely sad. I think kids of today grow up with a lot of unnecessary pressures. They are more alone and more snowflakey. Poor things.

I have sympathy but at the same time this all comes down to how they are raised. Having said that, who is to blame?

Yeah I agree, this has a lot to do with parents. I think starting with saying no more often is a good start.

The ego explosion from sites like Instagram can't have a positive long term benefit for young people.

It's pretty sad where we have ended up. Luckily we on Steemit, this will change everything!

No, absolutely no. And the reason I think so is history.
Every time something new get introduced and become a big part of society the older generation is against it and thinks that the new generation is ruined. That happened when the public started reading books, the older generation said that they are wasting their time and it's a broken generation. Same happened with the industrial revolution and with anything new in society.
Kids today are fine! The problem is with the people who think that they are not fine :)
Instead of resisting it we can also understand that it may be part of our evolutionary intelligence.
