Light Up Your House In Nigeria With 35 Steem Dollar Solar Electricity Kit. Does it Sound Too Good To Be True?

How does a lit house for Christmas sound? Good, I guess. Three months ago, I wrote a post titled - How To Evolve With MTN Lumos Mobile Electricity Kit For 150 Steem or Steem Backed Dollars (SBDs). One hundred and fifty (150) steem or steem blockckchain dollars (SBDs) seemed like a lot of money to spend on a solar kit.
The Current Price of SBD Is Above $3

With the current price of steem blockchain dollars (SBDs) selling above $3.00, it's easy now to head to any of the MTN friendly centres near you to buy your lumos solar kit. It would cost you about 35 SBD. Earlier in the day, I exchanged 35 SBD of my steemit earnings for 35,000 NGN (35 SBD = 35,000 NGN) at airhawk-exchange (1SBD/1000 NGN) a subsidiary of @airhawk-project. The purpose for the exchange is to empower @trendyevents, my younger sister, to light up her house. This will enable her have consistent power supply to charge her phone or laptop and those of other family members for steem work.
Vision of A Mini Steem Family Hub

I come from a large family. My niece, Okeoghene, an undergraduate law student, would assist her aunt @trendyevents, to set up a mini steem family hub in the house. Who knows? This might just be the beginning of a steem city hub right there in Mararaba, Nassarawa State, as more and more people get to know about the value of the steem blockchain through them.
Caveat

Those steem back dollars are totally out of place to where they should be lol
I totally agree with you, @bitcoinflood. Now, take a look below (screenshot taken on Thursday, 7th of December, 5:25 CET)

Its now at 5.6 ma, this is serious 😀
This is actually great with SBD at $3. This should be an ultimate Christmas present for someone living where public electric utility (NEPA) is not always available. I would have loved if the outright purchase is cheaper but judging by the lithium-ion battery that they used, I could understand the cost. A friend that bought one from China paid $600 for just the type of battery they used on the Lumos.
The $600 lithium-ion battery my friend bought from China
My dear brother, @greenrun, this is not just the only reason. My sisters, @trendyevents, and the eldest are complaining of estimated billing from PHCN. They are just sick and tired of that kind of billing system coupled with the usual epileptic power supply that you've already stated. In fact, they told me that one man in their area told the PHCN staff to disconnect their light. The fellow has been enjoying mtn lumos for months now.
I'm glad that you understand why the one time cost is N26,000. Wow! $600 for the lithium-ion battery is not chicken change.
It is a costly technology due to it being recent and more efficient. It could outlast the known lead-acid batteries and is also lighter in comparison for same size of ampere-hours rating.
I would totally pay 100 SBD to ensure this Christmas is spent with at least electricity to charge my devices :)
I'm not really a techie person, but can just imagine how light the battery is. If the lithium-iron battery were to be cumbersome, the technicians who are responsible for installation would have been finding logistics to the home of consumers difficult.
This is my old powerbank. I bought the lithium-ion batteries you see in 2015 at the cost of $17. Battery bank still works great
These are usually the batteries inside those containers. They are just soldiered together to form one big bank of batteries.
Wow! Seventeen (17) was quite expensive to buy 4 tiny lithium-ion batteries in 2015, but I guess the battery is still doing it's job. Thank you for enlightening me.
@maryfavour, yes it was a bit costly. But seeing it was a Samsung product I had to buy it and it had lived up to the expectation I had while buying it.
Welldone @maryfavour
Thank you, @nathanieloamhen.
Haha steem dollar is very famous now a days and its price is also about 6$ :)
You can say that again, @bikalsiwakoti.
Thanks @maryfavour for this eye opening post.
#steemit changes lives.
With the current price of SBD i paid my niece school fees with just 26SBD.
I had to struggle before i got it settled last year.
I will try to surprise my uncle this Christmas with Solar Electricity Kit. I just pray everything work out as planned
Now its almost $6 :O
Yes, that's correct, @blazing.
