Japanese Scientists Were Trying To Produced Low Temperature And Low Pressure Ammonia Production Process.

As World population increasing rapidly, we have to produced more foods effectively.
To increased food production we need more fertilizer.
To increased fertilizer production effectively we need more Ammonia.
Apart from fertilizer production Ammonia used for plastic, fibres, and pharmaceutical and in referigerant.
The traditional way to produced Ammonia is based on Iron based Harber-Bosch Catalyst Method.

In Harber- Bosch method the reaction need (400-600)°C temperature and high pressure of about 20-40MPa.

Lots of energy used in this method to produce Ammonia. We need huge investment to make a plant to produce Ammonia in this method.

Because of high energy and higher carbon footprint that higher rate of Pollution we need low energy that is a method by which we able to produce Ammonia in ambient temperature and low pressure.

The main problem of Ammonia production is the activation of N-N triple bond.

Scientist researched on this field but still we can't find a efficient low energy process for producing Ammonia in large scale with a cost effective manner.
Recently Tokio institute of Japan developed a catalyst Lanthanum- Cobalt- Silicon ( LaCoSi) that can break the Nitrogen-Nitrogen bond at ambient pressure.

LACoSi is almost working same as Ruthernium Catalyst (Ru-CS).

In this method we placed LACoSi catalyst in the reactor to synthesise Nitrogen and Hydrogen to produce Ammonia.
Then produced Ammonia is trapped into Sulphuric Acid solutions.
Japanese Scientists were continued their research on producing Ammonia in large scale with this method.
They hope in near future they will able to produced Ammonia with this method efficiently.

That's is a great research by Japanese, we all have to think how we can make life easier for the nation.
Ammonia production as we know required high level of energy and presure,but if they can archive this, is going to be a huge success and that is going to improve the availability of ammonia to various sectors that are in need of it, such sectors as you mentioned include :agriculture, pharmacy, plastic industry and others.
