RE: 4 Tech Predictions That Were Horribly Wrong

in #technology7 years ago

You're right, it's close to impossible to say whether an invention will stay for decades and change the way we think about the world, or will it disappear and be completely forgotten. However in certain areas tendencies start to form which makes guesswork a little less difficult. This problem is increasingly relevant since the blockchain appeared. By many it is seen like the bringer of decentralization and freedom, by others it is just an enormous hoax that's going to rip off the entire world, and for others again it is something that will bring libertarian chaos setting the world on fire. Answering this difficult question, "bidding" on a certain outcome is in my opinion one of the greatest riddles of this part of the century. I feel it is also important to note, that most of the time technology that changes our lives doesn't always change the economy, but in this case this probably isn't true, and if blockchain technology is here to stay, it will reform the world economy almost entirely.

I totally agree. For the most part the world economy has remained same despite all the technological innovations, so, it will be interesting to see how the blockchain revolution unfolds.
