Development of automation has come a long way since hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. Manpower is no longer being replaced in only production industries, where many have been left without jobs.
Production
Working in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industry exposed me to many forms of powerful automation and artificial intelligence(AI). Hydraulic and Pneumatic automation took over the production industry, Automation with intergrated AI soon became a replacement for the conventional lathe and milling machine - once again, technology blew blue-collar labour out of the water in terms efficiency and accuracy with the CNC (Computer Numerical Control).
Sophia The Humanoid
In October 2017 Dubai gave a robot citizenship - the first robot with national citizenship in history, Sophia, a social humanoid robot - the same robot that said it would destroy humans.
