Quantum computer is based on quantum-mechanical procedure, such as superposition and entanglement. It procedure is base on quantum principle which deals with modern physics that explain the behavior of matter and energy of an atomic and subatomic level , Such a computer is different from binary digital electronic computers which is based on transistors [Like a common lightswitch } procedure. This computer is different from computer-based calculator based on transistors.

quantum computation uses quantum bits or qubits, which can be in superpositions of states.

On the other hand, quantum computers may be able to efficiently solve problems which are not practically feasible on classical computers

In general, a quantum computer with qubits can be in an arbitrary superposition of up to different states simultaneously. (This compares to a normal computer that can only be in one of these states at any one time).

A quantum computer operates on its qubits using quantum gates and measurement (which also alters the observed state) Quantum computing makes use of quantum phenomena, such as quantum bits, superposition, and entanglement to perform data operations. Computing in this manner essentially tackles extremely difficult tasks that ordinary computers cannot perform on their own.

Google and NASA have only been using the D-Wave Two to build their own quantum computing hardware for themselves.
