RE: Automation-Revolution And The Future Of Our Jobs

in #technology7 years ago

I personally think that yes, AI will steal our jobs. This will buy humans time to study or start doing something else, more interesting. The same debate reappears at each industrial revolution...

Sort:

You're absolutely correct sir. It has been a major argument/debate right from the First to this Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

Thanks a lot for the nice comment sir.

"AI will steal our jobs"

steal... I don't think "steal" is the appropriate word here. It's like saying an expresso machine stole a brewer's job. Everything that we can do can also be done by a machine, except perhaps employ imagination, and much faster. At every step in these industrial revolutions, jobs haven't dissapeared. They have transformed from, doing X to Use Y to do X.

Perhaps you'll be served by a robotic clerk at Starbucks in the future, but certainly there will be a robotic clerk programmer.

Jobs have not dissapeared. They have mutated. The fear of being obsolete (skillwise) is an entirely different story.

You just rephrased what I have said, haven't you?

PS: I used steal because this was the word used in the post.
