Google launches Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel Buds, Home speakers, Pixelbook laptop, Google clips and Day Dream View

GOOGLE launched its new hardware including Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel Buds Wireless Headphones, Pixel Book, Google Home Mini and Home Max, Google Clips and Day Dream View.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL: Two phones, little and large, with OLED screens, a focus on computational photography, and a lot of passive aggression towards Apple. They’ll be available for shipping 19 October and 15 November, for £629/$649 and £799/$849 respectively. The Pixel 2 also has an edge-to-edge screen, no headphone jack and a red power button. Google has borrowed an idea from HTC, and you can now squeeze the phone to enable the google assistant.

Pixel Buds Headphones: The headphones, called Google Pixel Buds, connect to an Android or Google Pixel smartphone, connecting to the voice-controlled Google Assistant to make phone calls, play music or even understand other languages.
The translation software allows users to both listen to and speak in foreign languages using their smartphone. For listening services, holding down the earbud will translate another language into the user's chosen language. The Google Assistant and Earbuds will initially support 40 languages and starts at £159 in the UK with a release date on November 22.

Pixel Book: It’s a small, sleek Chrome OS laptop: 10mm thick, 1kg heavy, with a fold-back screen that lets you use it as a tablet. It has a 12.3in touchscreen, and a backlit keyboard, with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage and a 10 hour battery. Pixelbook, priced at $999, is the first laptop powered by Google Assistant and will support Snap Inc’s Snapchat, the company said. The keyboard folds behind the screen to turn the 12.3-inch touchscreen into a tablet. It will be available in stores from 31 October.

Google Home Max: A large smart speaker which really can do music, aimed squarely at competing products from Apple and Sonos. It’ll cost $399, and be out – in the US only – in December.
