3D printer: creates human skin
A team of Spanish scientists has developed a 3D bio-printer that has the ability to create human skin.
The research was attended by the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMTA) and the Gregorio Marañón University General Hospital, in collaboration with BioDan Group.

The epidermis is the protective layer of the environment outside the body.

- José Luis Jorcano, professor of the Department of Bioengineering and Aerospace Engineering of UC3M and head of the Joint Unit CIEMAT / UC3M of Biomedical Engineering says that "for the first time it is possible by means of 3D printing to manufacture a fabric, in this case the skin , Perfectly functional ".

Depending on the process, it is possible to manufacture two versions of skin: allogeneic, using a large-scale cell stock for industrial processes; Or autologous, which uses the cells of a patient to create skin specifically for him.
