The mesh is actually similar to how miners communicate. However, the miners need the internet of today to share information while this is just routers talking to each other. You could run miners on a mesh internet if the mesh was big enough.

That is very hard to say. If enough of us do the work then maybe.
Where do you think mesh has the most chances of success? In smaller communities, perhaps? Where the ISPs are garbage and choke the internet speeds?
That is how they are starting already. It has to be a grass roots type deal. As more communities make them they can inter connect and be stronger.
I see! It will be interesting to see if it ever reaches mass adoption status in today's society.
