We have had many technology advances over the past few year, and it seems that the smartphone is one that is really being adopted widely.
If you are my age, you will know that there was no television until, well recently in my opinion. There was things like faxes, dial telephones, and no cell phones, no computers and certainly no internet. We came a long way in the last 30-40 years.
Smartphones are becoming the heart of technology
During the past decade, more and more people are using smartphones and is outweighing Laptops, PC's and tablets as the preferred method of getting onto the internet.

Smartphones are very handy devices. We always have it with us. Initially Cell phones, were only used to phone. The second stage of adoption was that we now always have a camera with us, which lead to people taking more pictures and videos, which was one of the things that lead us to the social internet.
What will the device of the choice of the future be ... as we are moving into the internet of value?

To give a answer to the question: "What will the device of the choice of the future be ?"
I think smart TV's and TV-boxes are something to keep a eye on as well. TV's are the biggest screen in most houses and can do many things. ( i'm working on porting Steemit apps to Android TV (and Android phones and tablets) it will bring more Steem to a variety of Android devices.)

The only technology that could make the others obsolete is something like a augmented reality lens or glasses, then we maybe stop using the phones and TV and we would not need those devices any more.
Good point virtual reality may be the future.
I disagree since even cheap TV can become smart with TV Box or mini PC such as Raspberry PI. Unless smart TV become cheaper in few years later.

I know what you mean, desktops appeal to me because they feel solid.
it's time to use the smartphone as much as possible to make a profit, or vice versa smartphone that will dredge the contents of our wallet for all the costs incurred.

smartphones are irreplacable because it is the device you carry around that is fully functional and helps you do almost every daily task. Wearbles could have the potential to replace smartphones, but the tech is not quite there yet
Is very nice that we can do anything , everywhere we are because of the smartphone... but i still like laptops , there are things that are faster to do on laptops like designs in photoshop, ilustrator or any other management :)
