Can anyone predict future technology?

singularityimg.jpg

I'm not talking about next year's technology. Not even next decade's technology.
I'm talking centuries ahead or even millennia.
Is it possible? Are our brains even capable of that?
What kind of imagination, inspiration, intuition is required?
I have many many ideas that I'd like to share with fellow steemians.
And at some point I may collect all those ideas and publish a book.
But before that happens I will be posting ideas here.

Look, I'm not claiming that I have those answers.
But the fun is in trying.
And with feedback from other steemians I will shape those ideas, reject some, adopt others, until we have a satisfactory result.
It will be more science fiction than actual science of course (though I suggest we try to be as realistic as we can).

Follow me to keep in touch with the development of this project. It will be a fun and exciting journey.

Yes. See predictive linguistics @ halfpasthuman.com

I checked that out last night, and, no my friend, that's not what I had in mind at all. Halfpasthuman is about using keywords from public discussions, mostly from the web, to predict near-term events. It's not entirely scientific. It is based on the -very dubious- assertion that all humans have psychic powers! This is far from proven. And you know what? Because I truly am an open-minded person I'd be ok with the claim that a keyword analyzing algorithm can predict financial trends. But those predictive linguistics shenanigans went as far as claiming that it predicted the Indonesian tsunami!!. Come on, seriously?

too philosophical for my liking. No thanks
