The Motoguzzi V8 race bike was a mid-50s attempt at ultimate technology. As I have heard it, the tire technology of the age was simply not up to the task and they could not keep tires or riders alive on the thing. Motoguzzi's street bikes are shaft driven and feature a very smooth 90° V-twin engine.
