To Feed our Greed
As our lives flit gently by
And as we've grown and learned to fly
All engrossed in what we are
Enthralled by our technology
We fail to see how much we've done
To others who abide with us
Who live and die at our behest
Without a choice they are to be
Our sport, our pleasure, then our food
We breed them, hunt them, cage them, kill them
And when at last their spirits freed
From all the suffering decreed
From all unnatural circumstance are freed
Their bodies used to feed our greed
Their children destined so to be
What are they but the lives they had
We took from them to feed our greed
Let us turn to eating seed
Consuming nought but that we need
Let us hold in high esteem
The lives of every living being
So cold and callous we've become
Removed from life as it should be
Oh that we might there return
And live in natural harmony.
Our soul and spirit so to feed
Instead of all our carnal greed.

This is the sad truth...very thought provoking...
