Why You Can't Ever Plug a USB in Correctly on the First Try 😲

I know we've all been there, you're going to plug in a USB, you look at it assured it's the right way up but when you go to slide it in you fumble around and it's not accepting it.

So you flip it over and try again, nope. Wtf! You look right at the slot and line it up again and try to slide it in this time with a surgeons precision, finally that frustrating hole of shame accepts your package and it's a very satisfying feeling.

Ever wonder why they couldn't make a USB that works both ways? I'm glad you asked, let me explain..

In 1994 an Indian-American computer architect named Ajay Bhatt invented the Universal Serial Bus that has since been used worldwide in 20 million devices.

He shopped the idea to Microsoft and Apple but they turned him down. Intel took a chance on the crazy idea for one connector to rule them all and since it has changed the way we connect our devices. Sure it has made connecting our devices "easy" but why the hell is it so frustrating and why do we always get it wrong in our first attempt?

The answer is Bhatt's idea was made to be cheap. To make a USB that worked both ways would have doubled production costs and for such a new technology he wanted to keep it as inexpensive as possible so the masses would be quick to adopt it. Intel was also worried at the onset that if the technology was twice as expensive to produce and a bit larger the industry wouldn't want to give the USB a chance. So they went with a design that would only work one way up.

Perhaps they made the right decision, but that doesn't help when I'm trying to plug in my vape charger and I'm fumbling around with it three times to get it to go in 😁

a very valuable infirmation. because USB is a very tool in perlekan every we need for the data we want .. you have shared knowledge so valuable. and I will do as you give science

I give science away because I'm a great person 😁 Thanks for checking out my post!

@goldenarms goes above and beyond everyday. I love the matrix.

ok. when I read the post you give I can guess you are a great person and always provide a very useful knowledge

It's a 50/50 chance you'll get wrong 80% of the time😄 SCIENCE.

Must be a guy thing, fumbling to get it in right the first time? I never have trouble. 😋😂😂

Oh no you didn't! lol Hey this is the serious blog where we never joke around ok? 😛

I am so very sorry sir, please accept my totally serious apology for implying things about your manly skills

It can go upside down, just don't try to connect to the output jack! Might get a charge.

Great post! usb-c is an any-way connection usb, Finally!!

Hey don't come up on my posts talking that voodoo evo08gsr lol

haha, My voodoo is not as strong as your voodoo, don't worry, ga!

Shame they didn't learn their lesson when they brought out the micro USB there just as fucktarded!

First world problems. And a good story to boot. Thanks for the laughs.

Thank god for USB type C

Yep...thats true i Can't Ever Plug a USB in Correctly on the First Try !!!
This is a helpful post. Thanks

this usb hub really awesome, this hub design nice, this device very strong,

We have all been there, trying to insert the dang thing into the slot. Thank you for explaining why we have the problem. An issue with expense and making a profit. That sums it up nicely. Now, perhaps that it is a huge success, we could improve on the design?
