Elon is a visionary and a dreamer. He also gets things done. I do think the Hyperloop is a reality and it is just a matter of time and money invested to get it going....literally. Having read his biography I realise that he may not be the most pleasant person to work for but he gets results that lesser people would ever dream of achieving.
I know that he is not building the hyperloop himself though...not sure what impact that will have.
The dude takes risks like no one else I tell you that, his always pushing things further!
I'm sure he isn't everyones cup of tea but it takes that person who is uncompromising in his vision for the world to make changes. If you always consider everyones opinion you'll never get anything done!
There are quite a few companies keen on Hyperloop I know Virgin is one of them
