in #technology8 years ago

Google officially introduced two new android smartphone in the Pixel series called Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL. Reportedly the two top-class smartphones are equipped with advanced features including being the first smartphone that can be used to communicate without embedding a SIM card.

Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL are still equipped with Nano SIM slot on the specifications. However, both devices can be used to communicate without a SIM card where Google has embedded eSIM function verify mobile account from users.

But there is a requirement that the feature can be enabled. The requirement is Google Pixel 2 users and Google Pixel 2 XL is a subscriber or subscriber Project Fi Mobile Mobile Network Operator (MVNO) from Google. The project provides telephone, SMS and internet service which is a Google collaboration project with various operators around the world.

Until now there is no mobile phone tau smartphone that uses the standard eSIM as applied to Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL. The advanced technology has just been implemented by Apple on Apple Watch third generation products.

With eSIM technology applied to the smartphone Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL is certainly no longer need to buy a SIM card. Even connected with eSIM service is very fast like connecting smartphone with Wi-Fi.

To connect eSIM in Google Pixel 2 smartphone and Google Pixel 2 XL to Project Fi network using Google Store. But if it is a customer of Project Fi then the user just simply activate in two new Google device. Because Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL have a "SIM-free" option in the settings that if selected then Google will set the connection via Project Fi.

has an eSIM feature, Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL users can still use a Nano-type physical SIM card. eSIM is only used as an option to make users more practical in communicating where it is intended for users in countries that have expanded the Fi project.

Oh man, I would love to use Google Fi! But I don't see the point in spending that much on a phone when a cheap one does the job.

(The reason I want Google Fi in the first place is because I'm stingy, so paying a lot of money for one of their phones defeats the point haha).
