To help Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, students of Cochin College of Engineering and Technology & MES College of Engineering, Kerala launch first of its kind robotic device to monitor river pollution.

First commercial Unmanned Surface Vessel developed by engineering students from India to detect and track water pollutants, conduct real time water quality monitoring survey with 3D mapping.

FENBOT operates both autonomous and manually controlled with a range span of 10km.

It can test the pollution level in rivers and can identify the source of the pollution in the water body.

Assembled under a budget of ₹2 lakh ($3000), the remote-controlled unmanned boat has a built-in GPS Device for location tracking, a GSM module that can send SMSes to the authorities giving out a detailed report, and a camera for taking live photographs.

The battery-run boat can provide details like water temperature, pH level, biological oxygen, chlorine and nitrogen demand through its testing.
