Brothers Diptanshu and Mukul Malviya invented a unique machine Wrapper Picker to improve the lives of sanitation workers
While littering is done easily and mindlessly with the flick of a wrist, bending down and picking it up is often viewed as a tedious task. It is difficult for a sweeper to bend every time to pick up the littered trashes.
As a school project, brothers Diptanshu and Mukul Malviya invented a unique machine Wrapper Picker to improve the lives of sanitation workers.
It is a motorized device with 2 roller combs attached to a rolling base, which automatically picks up littered pieces of a wrapper, papers, pouches, napkins, etc. and collects them in a storage bin.
The flexible machine is easy to operate and maintain. The brushes are just a few millimetres above the ground level to ensure that dust and grit are not picked up.
Hope we get more like them. Other people have to learn not to litter. There is a place for everything. India has a long way to go in terms of sanitation. But Diptanshu and Mukul put forth a great effort because it bothered them. They should be rewarded.
It’s a brilliant idea. The very thought of improving the lives of the most ignored / downtrodden people deserve a special round of applause...
