Specialized Research Institute of Instrument Engineering, part of the machine building division of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation - Atomenergomash JSC, is one of the leading scientific organizations in the field of nuclear instrumentation and radiation safety. The Institute was organized by the Decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of April 19, 1952. The idea of ​​creation belonged to IVKurchatov. Originally it was called Central Design Bureau-1 (TsKB-1), then NII-1 and SRIIE.
