NIce post. Just want to advise on some points

  • always save your work and have a backup offline(like a usb drive) or online(via the cloud like OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive)
  • wait for some time prior to stopping the process as it may actually still be processing
  • killing the process should always be a last resort
  • never kill a hanged system process as it may cause more harm than good, much better to save your work if you can then shut down your pc to let the system do an orderly killing of the process (the reason is there may be dependent processes with that hanged system process)
  • if it happens again, call an expert
