This is really scary stuff. as you said, It squashes individuality and makes everyone conform. I have heard your score will be lower if you have friends with low scores. It could have the effect of making people avoid those who are a bit different.
Yes, as a way of isolating people with low scores, which is very cruel in my opinion.
