One of the most interesting things about art is the ability to play with aesthetics, composition techniques allow a variety of styles to mutate, here is the true richness of art. That's why today we'll discover an artist who, with his paintings, always speaks for his disturbing style of images that are not at all complacent with what people are used to seeing, especially for what they are attracted to contemporary art or classical art, the former devoid of any figuration and the latter following a rigid aesthetic manual that is based a lot on proportions. Santiago Caruso is a recognized painter of the present century, born in 1982 in the city Quilmes - Argentina, he has stood out as one of the best painters and illustrators who has broken the sensitive trend of contemporary art, in past publications I have spoken a lot of other contemporary artists who have absurd works that I personally do not consider to be art, in the case of Santiago Caruso brings together perhaps the best of all pictorial genres, such as impressionism, abstraction, classical painting and surrealism is very complete.
His themes are based on dark things that generate a lot of mystery, where the characters look sinister, although these themes are more recent not everything has been this style in the works of the artist, ha. Painted as I mentioned, a little bit, being the illustration and the use of techniques related to the comic, his father is a very important figure in his life because he was a caricaturist, thus much of his childhood use to practice caricatures that would give him an exceptional handling of the line. From there also a taste for graphic narration, style that remains in any of his works.
When he finishes his secondary studies he decides to study art at the Carlos Morel School in his native city, at the same time he began to enhance courses of creation of comics where he learned to dominate the graphic narration, once he finishes his studies he dedicates himself to compose with pure and traditional techniques moving away from the techniques of contemporary art, the only disadvantage is that his works full of details and of much dedication were not very well received by the companies dedicated to the industry of the comics, continued composing different styles such as illustrated stories for children, album covers, book covers, and worked for some time in newspapers such as El Clarín, Caras magazine and Caretas, without feeling comfortable to receive pressure not to elaborate so much his work decides to follow his own path, a hard decision in a country where painting is not a very lucrative activity.
Continuing with his illustration technique very similar to traditional painting is manual, he does not use any program to make his compositions, his themes are linked to surrealism and is loaded with much symbolism, his color palette is dark uses many shades of red combined with black which denotes much melancholy, suffering and pain, also reminds a bit of the Renaissance technique where the backgrounds are lacking clarity giving greater importance to the characters portrayed.
His recognition is global, especially in Europe where he is the cradle of easel painting and where renowned painters have invited him to give workshops and make explanatory talks about your work.
