Nicéphore Niépce (French inventor credited for the first permanent photographic image)

Technology has taken the world to great heights to the extent that sometimes we find it a bit ridiculous to comprehend the fact that some things we have today did not exist some decades ago.
Take for instance, Photography. Most people do not know how difficult it was to take and create a picture or image years ago.
As a matter of fact, it was a big deal and great invention for the first permanent photographic image to be developed.
And the man and brain behind that technology or invention is a remarkable French inventor,

Born on this day, in 1765, the great work of this French photographer and inventor is responsible for how we relate to pictures and photographic images today.
For a large part of his career, Nicéphore Niépce fascinated people with his amazing mind as a photographer and inventor.
He and his brother Claude had worked together as the Niépce brothers on the world’s first internal combustion engine project called the “Pyréolophore”.
Later on, Nicéphore Niépce shifted his attention towards photography. However, he never really attained the level of recognition his worked deserved during his time.

While alive he was not given due credit for his pioneering works in the photography field. It took years after his death, before his use of bitumen for his photography procedure became widely adopted and accepted.
Nicéphore Niépce's use of Bitumen was a cost effective means of creating photoresist for plates used in printing.
After the death of Nicéphore Niépce, his partner, Louis Daguerre, stole the limelight with the creation of his own photographic procedure called the “daguerreotype” based on Nicéphore Niépce’s idea.
A quest for real facts led to Niépce's heliography, which helped kick-start an investigation to trace back the origin and the concept of photography from which records and documentations became unveiled.
