Virtual Reality In Gaming: Beyond Virtuality
Virtual Reality (VR) is not new to the tech world, as we’ve seen some cool practical applications of this tech. But we’ll be looking at another important application of VR; which is in gaming. But before I proceed, I will love to explain a few things about VR Gaming, at least for the not-so-tech-oriented guys.
Virtual Reality Gaming: This is the type of 3-Dimensional gaming environment in which the gamer literally interacts with the gaming environment [Playing the game inside the game]. This can also be a simulation of the real world in a virtual environment.
Components of VR Gaming
There are some aspects of the VR Gaming that makes the experience of the gamer worthwhile. These components include:
Bio-Sensor
This is one of the most important aspects of the VR Gaming. Bio-sensor enables the gamer to interact with the gaming environment. These sensors detect movement in the body of the gamer and transfer them to the computer, which interprets the signal received and uses them to effect the desired result.
The sensors are normally located inside the gloves, headset, and suits (in the case of full body VR set).
3-Dimensional Internet
This, though not a major prerequisite, is also needed to spice up the experience of a VR gamer. With this, you’ll access the internet in a very different way. Have you thought about accessing the internet without clicking a single button? This could be your access to it.
With the ever increasing popularity in VR Gaming, the need for 3-D internet can never be overemphasized.
Gaming Hardware
These are all the tools needed to run the VR Game. These include: Virtual consoles, Head set, Visors, Computer systems, and the human-computer interface devices.
But I also need to point out that; there a quite some languages in which the VR Gaming system runs on. Some of these languages could sound strange, except for the techy guys. I’ll just run through some of them:
- Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML)
- Collaborative Design Activities (COLLADA)
- Extensible 3-Dimensional Language (X3D)
- 3-Dimensional Modeling language (3DML)
A lot of Virtual reality companies are now tilting towards the production of VR Games. I guess they’ve discovered that the market is enormously vast. I mean, who doesn’t like a cool gaming experience? For me; oh yes!! Take the damn food and give me a cool VR game, lol.
Leading VR Game Companies and their products include:
- Oculus (RIFT, acquired by facebook inc)
- Google (Google goggle, Google lens, Cardboard VR Viewer)
- Microsoft (HoloLens)
- Sony (VR Undresea)
The world of VR Gaming is still evolving. More are yet to come. This is the future of the now.
it is nice if you play a game into a reality.
Exactly
I want one so cool
Me too
