Water and land drone!

Water and land-based drone EagleRay XAV was developed. With video shooting capability, it makes it easier to do water and land surveys.

Engineers from North Carolina State University have developed an amphibious drone that can fly and submerge when needed. The EagleRay XAV has a width of 150 cm and a length of 140 cm. With its special design propeller, it can move efficiently both under water and in the air.

The sonar system and sensors in the drone allow the unmanned aerial vehicle to remain safe under water. Also, the energy consumed in underwater work is much lower than in the air. Researchers say this particular drone will make underwater research easier.

As a next step, a special controller will be developed to easily control EagleRay in both water and air. With EagleRay, it will be much easier to explore underwater life. You can learn about the drone with the video below.
