Tech Company Offers To Pay For Weddings And Tuition Of Employees

in #technology8 years ago (edited)

Boxed is a new startup company that specializes in bulk shopping, akin to Costco, by offering household items, beauty and health products, food, and more. Those who sign-up are able to enjoy free delivery for the first order and any orders over $49, and most of the time the package is going to be delivered within 2 business days. There are no membership fees required and customers can earn cash rewards when they get back 1 percent of cash rewards for the total price of their order.

Because the company is just starting out, they aren't able to compete with Google, Facebook, and other prominent tech companies, in being able to provide the highest salary for its employees. Instead, they are looking to reward and compensate their employees in a different way. And that is by offering to help pay for the college tuition for the children of any any full-time employee, and they help to fund employee's weddings.

Their employees at Boxed also have the option to be able to take unlimited maternity and paternity leave. So even though they might not be making the highest base salary, there are other ways for them to benefit and it just might be the type of situation that is perfect for some people.

Boxed just last year was able to raise $100 million in funding and that brought its total funding to somewhere around $132 million overall. Some have suggested that Boxed is going to really give Amazon, Sam's Club, and Costco etc, a run for their money, because it offers people the chance to buy those bulk deals from the comfort of their own home.

Boxed is looking to inspire change in the way of transforming shopping habits for millennials.

They want to see millennials stock-up and buy in bigger bulk sizes, rather than purchasing one item at a time like they do for most things. Having launched just a few years ago in 2013, Boxed now delivers to anywhere in the United States and it can also deliver fresh items like dairy and vegetables in places like Atlanta, Boston, and NYC.

Is it because the employees are Boxed so they have to get married inside? :-)
